I've made some folders, work well for the purpose I need.

Another option may be a roller gate? Similar to what they use in chain link fence locations. Less likely to be affected by corrosion if you have the space for it.

If you didn't have the room for a one piece sliding gate - - - use stages.

that would help keep the gate sections lighter and if you put the end of each section on a roller of some kind (tire on the ground kind of thing) things should be fairly easy to roll (I think).
