Ideally that would be my perfect plan with a Martin planter setup and most of the nitrogen thru the planter and sidedress, but I am thinking you are enough further south to have more time when that will work. I would guess if we get 10 planting days there are maybe 2 when continuous corn without fall tillage makes a nice seedbed. And one of those days we had this year, we ran to-the max harrow and planted in gorgeous dirt to work with one pass and had a 3 inch rain 2 hours later, it is about a 27000 final stand out of 34000 planted. I'm not blaming that on the tillage, just saying that is the chances you take and I hope it is better corn than I expect when we get there!
