Canneries were having a difficult time getting cans this summer.  I know one of the local pea plants had to get lids from Poland to keep the plant running.  Sounded like peas, sweet corn, and tomatoes were the worst since they need to be canned almost immediately and the plant had to pass over some fields when they were out of cans.  These disruptions will affect us far into next year.
