Subject: RE: Saltine cracker shortages?

scmn

Last year I had a lady comment about me having (4) 24oz sour cream, (6) 24oz cottage cheese, (3) 16oz Top the Tater, and (6) gallons of milk in my cart at the grocery store.

Her: "Stocking up, you got enough?"
Me: "Lucky if that lasts a week in our house"
Her: speechless

When I buy Saltines I typically get 3-6 boxes.  I like crackers in soup so one sleeve is about right for a bowl of chili, the wife and kids will use another sleeve and with leftovers it easily takes a box for one batch of chili.  My meatloaf takes 2 sleeves of crackers, 3lb burger, 1lb sausage so there goes another box.  When we have Saltines in the house I will eat them plain to hold me over to supper before evening chores.  Needless to say, much like dairy products a box of Saltines does not last long in our house.
