I have been told one downfall is they are heavier. Don’t know if this is true but someone told me a 40’ FD2 is like 2,000lbs heavier than a FD1. Problem in soft conditions I don’t know.
According to their website:
Double Drive FD240: 9,113 lbs
Double drive triple reel: 9,442 lbs
Double Drive FD140: 8,170
Difference of 943 lbs on like models.
Difference of 1,272 for a triple reel.
