| Working in a factory is a breeze compared to rounding up cattle in a blizzard, or trying to start the feed truck as a storm is rolling in. It's a vacation compared to laying under a forage harvester, crap dripping down your face as you open the bottom shield to see why the darn thing is plugged up. A nice warm factory, with timely breaks, OSHA oversight, full benefits is nothing to scoff at. Pretty sure you see more people leaving the farm to work in a factory, that vice versa, unfortunately. And believe it or not, farmers and stockmen are often "forced" to work all sorts of undesirable hours in conditions that would make a factory seem like a spa. | |
