Glasgow, Ky

Enjoyed reading your post.  I can identify with many of the benefits you mentioned from working in a factory.  When I worked in one I also was raising grain, tobacco and had a cow/calf herd.  The money was good, the benefits were good and most of the people were good to work with.  I stayed there for 20 years before taking an early retirement to go back to full time farming.  Farming has its negatives, factory work has its negatives.  The thing is that anyone who wants to work factory work can get a job, not everyone who wants to farm can do it, especially today.  Those that have had the opportunity to farm need to appreciate it, less and less folks today have that opportunity.  My intention was just to point out the misconception some seem to have about factory work.  In the world today few have it made.  We all need to be a little more appreciative and considerate of others and their struggles in life.  Just curious, did you stay with your factory job until retirement?
