Agree 5 years isn't senior, but he's salaried tech and in this day and age, those that have any IT experience can just about write their own paycheck in many companies.
Edit: however, since I've worked in the corporate world for many years "senior" can be relative. 5 years might make him senior if deere has that high of a turnover rate. I have no clue.
