I don't know about corn, but have a single loaded with another commodity that's been mis-routed to AZ...twice...Oregon, back to NE...back to WA...then to CA.
Now have an individual case worker who calls me twice a day to confirm that it is actually still on the right path to the correct destination.
The railroad...where an ordered car is merely a suggestion.
