North East Kansas | Thank you so much for this reply. Your experiences are similar to ours. We do have field variability, but not because of the planter or anything. We may have good ground and then a sand spot for 50 feet and then back to good ground again. We haven't noticed any issues with dirt getting in to the tensioners on the deck plates. We have problems with dirt getting into the chain tensioners over time. Are the plates you are talking about removing the ones that have 6 bolts in them, and they expose the deck plate tensioners? We have talked about removing those altogether since they seem to cause more issues then they help. We have talked to some GT owners and they made it seem like they have the same issues, and need to clean everything with them so I'm wondering it they even clean out much better.
When you talk about ear processing with the drago are you talking about how it seems to just mostly bring in ears while the deere corn heads bring in more of the stalk. We are always looking for the best products, but it may be best to just make our head like new again as long as the gear boxes will last a long time. | |
