Sheldon, IA | On our manure setup we put a small 1 in port and valve on the top of the tanker unload pipe, after the shutoff valve. When the tanker is empty, we shut the tanker valve and leave the transfer pump running, then we open the 1 in valve and the pump will suck the line dry in about 10 seconds. Then unhook and no mess made, we then set the hose on a hanger that holds then end 3 feet above the ground and no mess is made. The pump actually stays running all day as the next truck will be there in 1 or 2 min if it is not already there when you unhook. We pump from trucks into a frack tank and then applicator (5 wheel terragators) then pumps off the frack tank using an arm with pump. This setup seems to work well for us and we have had no messes that weren't caused by opperator error.
