SouthCentral WI | If you are asking about the solenoid on the the starter (not a relay) then you can do one test.
The solenoid has 2 functions..... Push the bendix into the ring gear.... and close a heavy contact switch from the input to the starter.
If you have room (not likely) and the solenoids problem is in the contact. You can start the truck by having someone hold the key (or energize the the solenoid with a remote starter switch) at the same time take a screwdriver and jump the 2 large terminals on the starter.
Of course if you have it in gear, you will probably kill yourself, but maybe the parking brakes will save you.
