The brakes won't hold and we wished they were outboard disc like the R72 but all manufacturers have gone to inboard brakes. Just turn into the hill. Something we try to be prepared to do at all times.


From a safety perspective the outboard brakes would seem to have a significant advantage. The New Holland TR has inboard brakes as well. When you loose the pin in the driveshaft coupler and the coupler slides a bit you have no brakes. For us that is not usually a big problem....in your area I would be checking those parts pretty regularly.

The old MF combines up to the 860 had outboard brakes as well.
