It sounds like one actuator is not working. My S96 did the same thing. Tech disconnected the actuator from the rod. I sat in the cab and worked the shift button for him. He said the actuator moved when disconnected but did not sound right (growling noise). Put a new actuator on and then calibrated the shifters. Works now.
