| If it works after you release pressure sounds like an issue in the valve. If the hose to the coupler is in poor shape I might replace it to rule out an inner layer delaminating, causing a return restriction. The easy fix would be to install a lever release coupler. Then it would not matter if there was pressure in the system when coupling.
