My Kyocera Duraforce has a sealed cover over the charge port. Has to be opened to plug the charger cord in. Have had the phone for close to 4 years and it has been charged every night and occasionally during the day in the truck or tractor/combine. I think the sealed cover keeps all the debris out and saves wear on the charge port. Patrick
