I can't really add anything to the original post, but we ate with a friend this past weekend that said he had lost smell but could taste when he had Covid.
I thought that was funny because I didn't know that was possible.......I remember holding my nose a time or two trying to swallow something that tasted bad.
I thought taste and smell was a package deal.
