n.c.iowa | Tough choice, I don’t really have any working knowledge of gheringhoff except a years ago there were a few around, and they’ve all disappeared.
we used to run a series one drago years ago, we weren’t particularly impressed by it, but when they came out with the gt it was different enough that we thought we’d give it a try.
there were some first year growing pains but we stuck with it because we think it does a superior job of picking up down corn. so much so that we traded for a new one this year, twin chop like our first one.
we did get down corn augers for the outside snoots. It was the one thing we really fought on our old head.
i don’t know how your 740 would match up to a caseih 7120, but the only thing we had to add to make the 7120 work with that 12 row drago twinchop, was larger lift cylinders (actually third cylinder) power wise it handled it quite well. |
