It’s really hard to find any mention of this in any mainstream news outlet, certainly not from any in the USA. However, the best source I could come up with says this is not exactly a full greenlighting for Covid treatment but rather granting to use it off-label with permission of the patients. Still a step in the right direction to get a better look at it in a highly developed country.
That seems to be a fair assessment. Same Doc said similar in Feb and now is saying it more forcefully and with more clarity. It's definitely not a "Japan has authorized the use of" but it is also not a "Japan is prohibiting the use of". I don't know how much sway this guy has nor if any of the practicing docs in Japan are now offering it up. Did not find any info on that, but I suspect if it is being used, that info will start trickling out. |
