Subsoiler looks good. A lot cheaper than the brillion I bought but I have rocks. I have done some acres here and went 22" deep. I have two compaction layers, one at 14-16 and another at 20. Dig a whole and use a buck knife to see where and how thisck your layer is. I thought that doing it on the dry side would be better but it sounds like a soil profile with some moisture actually works a little better. Went to a meeting last winter and he said to work from the top down and not the bottom up so now when I use it again I'm going to start at the first layer.
