coast of Maine | Do not harvest until you must.If well mature it will keep til spring in a warm dry area.40 years ago it was the New England favorite.Way sweeter ,smoother than others,a bit wet if done wrong.Used to handle like large watermelons,load trucks by hand ,stack in 10 ton take to Boston,count when unloaded so buyer knew avg weights.Dont even grow any now.all switched to nut and cup. | |
