I suppose this thread is about average farm use. That excludes the shop guys who do this thing every other day that responded.
A $4,000.00 machine used on 2 or 3 units on a farm per year does not add up. Especially when this takes special knowledge,
AC repair needs more than a crescent wrench......
So, if you think you need a special machine for an average farm shop, I don't think so.

I should have explained better!
We have a small equipment dealership, and #2 son graduated from a diesel tech school where I forced him to study AC repair and GPS stuff.
While we don't do much outside work, we have 20 or so tractors we farm with, plus trucks, cars, dozers, combines, etc with AC systems we work to keep going. Then we also work on a lot of the AC systems in the equipment we buy/sell. So we work on AC stuff several times a week.
My son has been pushing me to buy a complete commercial machine. It seems like I'm going to have to cough up 4-5k for a new one. |
We need a AC recovery machine, which one?
