Faunsdale, AL | It’s better to move the machine to the combine than to put longer hose on to evacuate. So you want one that’s at least semi-portable.
I would look for a machine that has a standard refillable refrigerant cylinder in it. That way if you don’t reuse the refrigerant you have reclaimed, you’ll be able to send it out to be recycled or destroyed and exchange for an empty cylinder and be back in business.
I have an old suitcase type reclaimer pump, a refrigerant cylinder and a separate high vacuum pump. And of course gauge manifolds etc to hook it all together. You can do almost anything with it but it wouldn’t be the greatest for a high volume shop doing nothing but car and pickup ac.
