Se Nebraska | I had a lot of fun when I was young in the small creek by our house with a cane pole a small hook and bread balls catching bait fish and frogs also. My six year old likes my old Johnson spin cast reel my dad got me. I try to just make it something easy so we both like to go. If they enjoy it they can work on skills later. Also I have learned that lighter jigs are better because sometimes they get distracted and quit reeling and get snagged every time with a heavy jig.
