Gruver Tx
Contact your local electric company and get the rate structure explained. I have one 200 hp electric and a 3406 cat that pump similar water. Last year when natural gas was a bit cheaper the energy bill on the electric is 3 to 3.5 times fuel bill on the cat. No oil or allowance for overhaul or filters. Cost to replace an electric motor would be quite a bit less also. Our coop has a 3 tier rate and the more used the lower the cost. I try to never start the electric unless I’m planning to run for 30 days. Have ran it for 10 days and shut off for a rain and may cost as much as running it 30 days. Have the company check your meter and set up there could be a problem. With the losses incurred in winter storm URI rates will have to go up for us for sure.
