Check the condition of the rubber on the net brake bar, also the springs on that bar. If its never been changed its probably long wore out. Also take the knife off and sharpen it. These pretty much solved the problem on our 644, fyi that rubber flap didn't stay on ours very long, worked fine without it. Solved our impending sledge gear and belt problems by getting a 450.
