Subject: RE: Firmware fix coming for Starfire ITC and WAAS

Firmware has arrived. It can be downloaded at https://isgsupport.deere.com/dtac-files/3.73J.zip. Requires a GS2 or GS3 monitor to do the update, not a brown box. WARNING! If you're using an ITC extender or a homemade equivalent using the code from github, be sure to unplug it as it could corrupt the firmware update and brick the receiver. The reason being is that the code from github cannot guarantee that every data package is transmitted in the correct order. ITC Extender could be just fine, but don't take a chance.

TO UPDATE: (Be sure Original Greenstar Display emulator is turned on)

1. Download the new software .zip file.
2. Unzip the file to a known location.
3. Format a USB drive (GS3) or Flash Card (GS2).
4. Run GS Live Update on the USB or Flash Card.
5. Copy the .GST file from the downloaded .zip file onto your USB or flash card and put it in the PROGRAMS-->RECEIVER folder.
6. Insert your USB or Flash Card into the display.
7. Cancel the update pop-up and warning messages.
8. On your display, navigate to Menu, Message Center.
9. Click on Reprogram (softkey A).
10. Select GPS Receiver and click Reprogram Device (softkey E)
11. In the "Change to Version" dropdown select "iTC_v3_73J.GST" and click Accept.

TO VERIFY:

1. Navigate to Menu, StarFire.
2. Select the diagnostics button (softkey I).
3. On the Readings tab, verify the software verion is 3.73J.

The explanation is that the old firmware had hard-coded some PRN address numbers for the WAAS satellites and the ones ITC was listening to are now decomissioned. This firmware update contains the new PRN numbers for the current WAAS satellites.
