According to university research net wrap saves 4% dry matter versus twine and a lot of that savings is probably ate up by increased cost of wrap. On a new baler wrap costs at $5000 more, that money could be put towards a storag building and save more hay than the wrap. I've owned a net wrap baler (jd 535) and went back to a twine baler Vermeer J and there's no way I ever baled 50% more in an hour because of the wrap, and by the time you add in a lot more maintenance on the wrap system, probably very little time saved. I use Clearfield biodegradable twine and like it very well.
