Coldwater, Michigan | I haven't always liked my Epson printers, just mostly. Because I had one bad experience a few years back I went looking for something different before buying another Epson. The one comment I heard more than once was how hard on ink Epsons were. I even while in that period, went shopping with my daughter for a new printer for her. Everybody was saying how hard on ink Epsons were.
I bought another Epson, because I knew that wasn't true! I knew it to be false because of my experience with Epson. I have since proven to myself with my new Epson that the hard on ink isn't true.
What I can tell you: if you replace the ink everytime the Epson tells you it is time to order ink, you will think epsons are hard on ink. I always have spare cartridges on hand for when they run out, but have found that I often will run several hundred printed pages beyond the suggestion that I should order new ink.
I currently have an Epson WF 5690 All in One and I run the XL cartridges. They are larger than the standard cartridge, but smaller then the XXL cartridges.
Replacing the cartridges cost a chunk of money, but they last a long time, so my cost per page runs fairly low.
