It all depends on the margins. It's certainly possible that it's cost effective to demolish older turbines so they can be replaced with larger ones that may generate more power for a given cost. Just like there are plenty of farmers out there who swap out tractors every few years. Granted, I think resale on these turbines "might" be poor.
