Buying a huge flash drive (thumb drive) is fine, but if it dies so does everything on it. I prefer several "thumb drives" of what ever is cheap and do duplicates IF ITS IMPORTANT.
The downside to SSD's is often they just die, no warning and no getting data back. KAPUT But yes I do like them...
