North Central IL | In 2021 the western corn belt came into Spring with little soil moisture, and showing some drought in NE, SD, ND, MN and IA.
In 2017 drought conditions didn't show up until August, and we had much better soil moisture that spring and early summer.
In my travels I would say east of the Mississippi looks good, the further west you go the worse the crops look.
If we get timely rains we have a chance for close to trend yields, my bias would just below tend. If August is dryer than average the chance to hit tend yield decreases.
