Perhaps in the better dirt, but as one gets away from those counties along the Miss. River and head east, zeroing out was a a larger deal. 3 times as many acres as normal were considered unharvested compared to normal in the 4 southern IL districts. 10% of the corn acres in the two southern most reporting districts went unharvested. There normally is some due to flooding etc/silage but 2012 was extremely high. County corn averages below 25 were more common further east whereas St. Clair/Madison we’re in the 50’s.
