Central Indiana | Does corn in your area really yield anything after looking like that, even if it starts raining? I've been amazed for the last 4-6 weeks on here about corn holding on. In my experience in our area, if corn ever looks bad, or has any weed competition at all, the good yields are out. The best you can hope for is to not have a complete failure. There were some fields in our area that had a lot of grass competition and didn't get sprayed timely due to weather. In the past, that would hurt the yield, even though it got sprayed and cleaned up. Maybe the dirt in the northern corn belt is good enough to hold on, but our experience here, that would not be good. | |
