Subject: RE: 360 yield saver gathering chains

Kingston, Iowa
I run a Deere 608 so your mileage may vary. I put them on last year because our corn was bone dry before we got started harvesting. When they were brand new they did pull in a lot more trash than we're used too. We didn't seem to have too much trouble carrying over, there was some, but the leaves were dry enough they broke up. I actually liked them better after they had 3 or 400 acres of wear on them. I think they were still doing some good at the end of the season when they were technically worn out.

That said, I'm putting the OEM chains back on to start the season this year. We did put new brushes on the Yield Savers so they are ready to go again if I feel we need them.

One other thing I noticed, I suppose it was the extra drag on the chains from the brushes, but the chains themselves on the Yield Savers are worn a lot more than OEM after the similar acres. I would guess they would be shot after another full season.
