Middlesex County, Ontario | In order to start the tractor the following must be true. Some things to check, any of these switches could be preventing the tractor from starting.
- PTO disengaged
- operator presence (seat switch)
- transmission lever in neutral
- engine not overheated
My money is on the seat switch. Out of these three switches, the seat switch is the only one that will kill the engine. Note that leaving the seat will only kill the engine if the tractor is not in neutral or the pto is not disengaged.
I’m not 100% sure if an overheating engine will kill itself, but I believe it will disengage the PTO if overheating.
