SW Nebraska Panhandle | Lost an EVA drone a couple months ago. Lost all control but still had video until it ran out of battery almost 2 miles away. Never could find it even though I knew where it was when it ran out of battery. Pretty sure it is in the neighbors wheat field. WHeat harvest beginning soon so it might show up. I ended buying another EVA drone but also bought a Marco Polo finder. It is a very small device you attach to the drone which is completely independent of the drone electronics and battery. It definitely works but also have not had it go AWOL yet. But I feel much better now after having lost one. It cost a little over $200 so it is not cheap but then neither was the replacement drone. Did some surfing on Drone discussion board and it sounds as if lost drones is not all that uncommon regardless of make. So you either hope for the best, buy drone insurance or get a finder.
Thinking about attaching a finder on my pliers - always losing them. | |
