Subject: RE: Baling speed

Beresford, SD
Just finished 2nd.cut. Light hay. 568 baler and 4630. All pickup teeth excellent. Ran 6th gear at PTO speed. Did a nice job. 4 hrs, 150 acres, 208 bales: 3 balers 60% of the time, You realize you have good neighbors when 2 balers show up at midnight on the 4th of July to help roll up perfection!

Speed all depends on the windrow and smoothness of the field. If a wrap gets screwed up (had one doing ditch hay). A 568 will eat more than what will fit under the drawbar, unroll the screw up with weight bracket and rebale without clutching........in other words a 568 will bale as fast as it pick it up clean or as fast as you can stay in the seat, as I get older......steady win the race.
