Not all tablets will take all apps.
About a year ago, I just purchased a tablet without any knowledge if it would work on my new Mavic Mini.
Found out DJI Fly [app for Mavic Mini] would not work on my new $240- Samsung Tab A
There is a list of 'approved or combatable devices' in the app info.
So got a Samsung that was on the list.
Also I much prefer a tablet to a phone. Bigger easier to read screen for one.
Downsides are you need a holder and longer controller to device cable.
Also outfit will not fit in bag, unless you remove the holder from controller.
That said I do carry a 'use with phone' drone in everyday vehicle all the time. Never know when you might want a drone.
But serious planed stuff, I use a tablet or I-Pad drone.
