| We have been feeding a straight ground corn just to add something these are mainly grass fed animals summer pasture and winter over on baleage and some dry hay as of right now there is 26 broad cows a bull 7 yearlings and 16 calves I am not looking to be a grain fed operation just give mainly the calves and yearlings a kick in the ass get em started right and as of now all in same pasture and barn but do have a calf pen set up with creep gates in barn main thing is minerals need to add I have been running a hundred pounds to a ton and they have still been hitting the mineral block pretty hard I got a 50# of salt and 100# of a mineral mix which is about 4% phosphorus now I believe should add at least fifty pounds of calcium to balance out guess I did not say either we only feed a gallon to gallon and a half per head but calves I keep enough in there that it’s never cleaned up but not to much left over daily either | |
