St. Gregor, SK, Canada | We all know why they are good - prevent erosion, tie up nutrients, etc.
We know they work well in the Southern parts of the continent.
What about in Canada?
We had cut our barley in Sept. and then the land stood idle. I'm pretty sure we lost nutrients from having nothing but empty stubble standing there. Of course, we had one field that got a real good wild oat cover crop, but...
I guess what I'm getting at, is if anyone has tried something like tillage radishes in Canada, after an early crop like peas, winter wheat, or barley (that are supposed to come off beginning of Aug)?
