Subject: Re: US made vs. import roller chain

Portland, ND
I actually tested this last year on my 643 corn head (dry drive), I put a $10 per foot 60 heavy USA made drives brand chain on one side, and a $3 per foot 60 heavy China made TRP brand from Tractor Supply Co. At the end of the year and 600 acres later, the USA made chain had more wear in it than the China made brand.

For those not familar with how a 643 drives, it uses 2 driveshafts, and each driveshaft runs half of the header. We had the cheap chain on the side that drives the auger in addition to the 3 row units.

Needless to say, I was shocked!!!
