Farmington IL | I'm afraid these guys are right. When we do get to run we have no where to go. We have 4 drying bins and a continous flow dryer and we will bury them in two days even running in the mud. The grain elevators around here that usually take 150k bu of corn a day many days in the fall, their drying capacity is somewhere under 2k per hour with corn this wet so do the math, they will be less than 1/3 of normal capacity. The smaller elevators wont even manage half of that with 30% corn. Probabably 70% of the farmers in this area have very limited or no corn drying capabilities. We are going to be in much better shape than those guys but it is still going to be a struggle. Right now 10-14 days of warm dry weather would be a lifesaver. That wont get us anywhere near done but it would get the beans out, dry the corn down to something we could deal with and firm the ground up. Im not going to hold my breath! | |
