Also, the engineer who thought about having the separate reservoir for the power steering, instead of like EVERY normal tractor and just plumbing it into your hydraulic system...when he/she thought of that idea, shoulda called in sick that day instead.


Ford had been using separate PS pumps since they first started putting PS systems on tractors. It wasn't until the mid 90s that they started doing what you suggested.

Biggest problem with the TW steering setup is the lack of a cooler in the circuit. Tends to make for leaking seals and a short-lived pump.
