niobrara nebraska | Soil map for sure. They are scary accurate here. Also a soil probe and sample. Check your subsoil for compaction or a poorer soil then on the surface. My new to me farm had been mined for livestock feed since the 1930s. Soil map says it should do better, but it will take time. I leveled a terrace for a new to me irrigation pivot. The corn looks great anywhere that I spread that terrace soil around on. So look for prior farming practice details as well. | |
