I believe for the radar to calibrate it has to come like within 10% of current calibration for it not to fail. There is a way to go into the tech mode of the 2600//2630 screen and manually change radar calibration. I've done it before and tagged myself in a post on at talk where it explains how to do this, but I'm having no luck with the search feature this morning.
