Got a "what's it worth question". Im trying to buy a pair of sukup bins, they are 15' diameter, 7 rings tall. The sukup website lists them as 3800ish bushels if they have a floor and are plumb full. I know they aren't big bins,, but I would like to use one as a wet bin and the other for a few acres of wheat. One of them has been filled one time, the other has never seen a kernel of grain. I believe they have floors, auger and fan but I need to double check on that. The lady selling them told me to get an appraisal from a bin dealer, but I figured I would ask on here also. I know the going rate is $.10 a bushel on used bins, but these are basically brand new so I could see going a bit higher
We would tear down/rebuild them ourselves, we have torn down and rebuilt several bins for ourselves, up to 33'x12 ring so we're experienced enough.
As said few want bins under 10k BU, I have bought @5000 bu bins in $600 area (no air floor, unloading auger)
If I may suggest. Get bin jacks, remove bottom two sheets, pull a hay rack, flatbed under bin, lower it down, strap it well, drive it home. Make sure under height of your lowest obstacle you go under. But not having to take roof apart, and couple rings.
