NW Missouri | I doubt it. There is way too much money being made by the private crop insurance companies for them to let FSA take over their cash cow. They get a cut of all the policies they sell, but when it comes time to pay a claim, the government pays it. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig, and all the crop insurance agents I know are doing just fine for themselves. It also explains why the coops, FCS, JD, etc have all gotten into the crop insurance game over the past few years - it's a pretty profitable business. | |
