Central Alberta | Throw a few sleeping bags over the freezer when the power goes out to slow down the thawing. Food won't spoil for a few days, and most power outages don't last that long.
Solar power is the wrong idea for keeping a freezer going during a power outage, for lots of reasons. The size you would need to keep things going for days would cost tens of thousands. You could buy a lot of generators for the same money. | |
