Subject: RE: Solar generators?

S. Central Mi.
Ive lived off the grid in Mi. for several years, I'm back with consumers now. A Solar-battery inverter system to run a freezer would cost at least 3k ish. Cheaper option is get a smaller gen. to just run the freezer/some lights. I lived on a solar/battery system for several years- ran the generator a lot, we don't get much sun in Nov. Dec, Jan. Solar panels are relatively cheap now and the grid tie inverters are also fairly cheap. I have a grid tie system now, it doesn't make me much on utility pay back but if I use the power when the suns out it lessens my bill. My 6kw system cost 3500 for the panels, 1200 inverter, 1000 wire, mounts etc. it will take many many years to pay for itself but I like doing it.
